Trails to explore wind around the waters, with wildlife such as otters, wildfowl and dragonflies sharing the ponds and its banks as their homes. Most striking though is what gives the ponds its name, it’s carpet of stunning waterlilies. Draped over the waters like a painter’s canvas, the lilies are a fairy-tale sight sure to inspire romance.
The Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon in Abereiddy has long been a spot for daredevils and adventurers to take the plunge into the emerald waters below. Take a walk along the paths surrounding the now flooded slate quarry and you’ll be treated to stunning views and scenery. Looking down into the sparkling green waters that open out into the wide ocean, The Blue Lagoon is a testament to nature taking back and making something beautiful that was abandoned.Skomer Island and Caldey Island
Bobbing along the gentle swell of the waves on one of the many boat trips Pembrokeshire has to offer is a great way to enjoy a unique perspective of nature as well as spend quality time with your loved one. But whilst you’re out on the ocean, make sure to visit one of the scenic islands off Pembrokeshire’s coast. On Caldey Island you’ll find a secluded getaway, that’s home to a monastery and unique coastal views. Whilst visiting Skomer in the springtime will treat you to a magical setting, as the island comes to life with flowers. Bluebells and Sea Champion envelop the island in pink and blue, creating a landscape of colour to be explored.Strumble Head
Just west off the coast of Fishguard stands Strumble Head lighthouse. Standing proud for over 100 years, the lighthouse atop St.Michael’s island looks like it’s been pulled straight from a movie set. Take a late afternoon stroll and enjoy the coastline before the lighthouse illuminates the dark of the evening. Shining a light on your love!Manorbier Castle
What fairy-tale romance is complete without a castle to call home? A Norman castle from the 11th century, Manorbier today is open to the public with gardens and walkways to explore, encapsulating the history and beauty of Pembrokeshire.
